Permissions

We encourage users to access WRI’s online publications library and post links to our publications on other websites. You may freely include information about the title, author(s) and summary details of any publication, along with a link to the publication’s landing page where users can download the PDF version and other documents. You may not copy the PDF documents themselves (or other publication-related documents) to other web servers, except by special permission.

Reprints, Reproductions & Excerpts

The World Resources Institute encourages dissemination of its information by readily granting permission to reproduce, excerpt, or reprint its copyrighted materials. Requests for permission to reproduce WRI material:

  • Must be made in writing or by e-mail
  • Must indicate: 1) the specific portions that will be used; 2) the form in which those portions will be reproduced; and 3) the number of people who are expected to buy or receive copies.
  • Must agree to 1) cite World Resources Institute and 2) the print publication or Web site as the source of the material.

Usually no charge for use is imposed if distribution is primarily in developing countries.
