Evan Branosky is a Research Analyst in the People and Ecosystems Program at the World Resources Institute. In this capacity, he provides policy and technical support to WRI’s water quality projects, especially those related to agricultural runoff mitigation and stormwater and waste water control in the Chesapeake Bay and Mississippi River Basin.

Evan has authored or co-authored reports on the impacts of climate change on U.S. agriculture, GHG abatement opportunities in the U.S. Farm Bill, and the potential for performance- and market- based mechanisms such as reverse auctions for conservation program funding, water quality trading for nutrients, and taxes to correct distortions in the nitrogen cycle.

Prior to working on water and agriculture issues, Evan supported the WRI climate program as program coordinator and research assistant. An FFA American Degree recipient and Peace Corps Haiti alum, he holds a B.S. in agricultural science and environmental geomatics from Rutgers University and is pursuing an M.P.P. in environmental policy from the University of Maryland, College Park.
